Ireland Harmonised Inflation Rate Confirmed at 1.6%

In June 2025, Ireland's EU-standard harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) recorded a year-on-year increase of 1.6%, up from the 1.4% rise observed in May and consistent with preliminary estimates. The largest price hikes were noted in the categories of food and non-alcoholic beverages at 4.4%, recreation and culture at 3.5%, alcoholic beverages and tobacco at 3%, and health at 2.6%. Conversely, declines were reported in clothing and footwear, which fell by 2.2%, transport costs, down by 2.0%, miscellaneous goods and services, which decreased by 0.9%, and furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance, which saw a 0.6% drop. On a month-to-month basis, the harmonized consumer price index also rose by 0.5%, aligning with initial forecasts.
