In May 2025, the UK's construction output increased by 1.2% compared to the same month in the previous year, a deceleration from the 3.6% growth observed in April and marking the most modest rise since January. This marked the fourth consecutive month of expansion. However, on a monthly basis, there was a 0.6% decline, following three months of growth, including a 0.8% rise in April. Across different sectors, five out of nine experienced a contraction, with the most significant declines seen in non-housing repair and maintenance (-2.4%) and private housing repair and maintenance (-1.8%).
