In May 2025, Slovakia's construction output exhibited a positive trend, increasing by 2.2% year-on-year. This marked a recovery from a 2.7% contraction observed in April. The growth was largely attributable to a resurgence in domestic production, which climbed by 1.8% compared to a 0.5% decline in April. Notably, there was a substantial revival in new construction activity, which surged by 5.2% following a significant drop of 5.5% the previous month. Furthermore, the contraction rates in various sectors eased, with repair and maintenance declining by 6.2% (compared to a 7.7% decline earlier), building construction decreasing by 2.1% (as opposed to a 5.3% decrease), and engineering works seeing a minor drop of 0.2% (improving from a 4.3% fall). On a monthly basis, following seasonal adjustments, construction output experienced a slight rise of 0.2% in May.
