The annual inflation rate in Croatia rose to 3.7% in June 2025, consistent with initial projections and an increase from May's rate of 3.5%. This was the highest rate recorded since February, with inflation gaining momentum in several sectors. Notably, the costs of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased to 5.8%, up from 5.7% in May. Similarly, there were rises in the price indexes for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (from 1.8% to 2.0%), communication services (from 0.1% to 2.3%), and education services (from 5.3% to 6.1%). Meanwhile, transport expenses remained steady, following a 1.9% decrease in May. Conversely, a slowdown in inflation was observed for housing and utilities (decreasing from 5.6% to 5.2%), recreation and culture (from 5.8% to 5.2%), as well as for restaurants and hotels (from 9.0% to 8.5%). The clothing and footwear sectors continued to experience deflation, with prices dropping further from -1.7% to -3.2%. Monthly consumer prices saw a 0.2% uptick, slightly adjusted downward from initial estimates, succeeding a 0.3% rise in May.
