In May 2025, the issuance of building permits in Serbia experienced a decline of 9.5% compared to the same month the previous year, totaling 2,226 permits. Of these permits, a significant majority of 85.8% were allocated for building projects, while the remaining 14.2% were designated for civil engineering endeavors. Within the realm of building permits, residential structures comprised 81.7%, with non-residential structures making up the remaining 18.3%. For civil engineering projects, a substantial portion (73.5%) was assigned to the development of pipelines, communication networks, and power lines. New construction work represented 84.7% of the total projected value.
