Kyrgyzstan Inflation Steady at 18-Month High

In June 2025, Kyrgyzstan's annual inflation rate remained steady at 8%, matching the figure reported for the previous month. This rate continues to be the highest recorded since November 2023. The acceleration in inflation was notably driven by increased prices in various sectors: food and non-alcoholic beverages saw an uptick to 10.2% from 10.1% in May; housing and utilities rose to 14.1% from 13.8%; health costs climbed to 7.6% from 7.3%; and prices for transport, as well as miscellaneous goods and services, both advanced to 2.4% from 2.1% and 2.3% respectively. Conversely, there was a deceleration in inflation for recreation and culture, which slowed to 5.4% from 6.2%, and for clothing and footwear, which edged down to 2.1% from 2.2%. The education sector's inflation rate slightly decreased to 24.4% from 24.5%. Additionally, communication costs experienced a 0.1% decline, consistent with the previous month's rate. On a month-to-month comparison, consumer prices increased by 0.7%, down from a 1.1% rise observed in the preceding period.
