Euro Area Inflation Rate Confirmed at 2% in June

In June 2025, the Eurozone consumer price inflation rate was confirmed at 2% on a year-on-year basis. This marks an increase from May's eight-month low of 1.9% and aligns with the European Central Bank's official target. There was a noticeable uptick in services inflation, which rose to 3.3% in June from May’s three-year low of 3.2%. The decline in energy prices showed signs of moderating, softening to 2.6% from 3.6%. On the other hand, inflation eased marginally for non-energy industrial goods, decreasing to 0.5% from 0.6%, and for food, alcohol, and tobacco, which slipped to 3.1% from 3.2%. Meanwhile, core inflation, which excludes volatile components such as energy, food, alcohol, and tobacco, remained steady at 2.3%, its lowest since January 2022.
