In May 2025, Serbia experienced an increase in its current account deficit, reaching $379 million, compared to a revised $353 million in the same period the previous year. This change was primarily due to a significant rise in the primary income deficit, which grew to $606 million from $515 million, alongside a decrease in the services surplus, dropping to $159 million from $313 million. Conversely, the goods trade deficit saw an improvement, narrowing to $445 million from $661 million, and the secondary income surplus remained stable at $513 million, partially mitigating the overall deficit.
