The Baltic Exchange's main sea freight index saw an uptick of 0.9% to reach 2,035 on Tuesday, rebounding after a 1.8% decline recorded the previous day. The capesize index, known for transporting cargoes of around 150,000 tons, such as iron ore and coal, climbed by 2.7% to 3,061. In contrast, the panamax index, which typically accommodates cargoes between 60,000 and 70,000 tons of coal or grain, edged down by 0.3% to settle at 1,909. Meanwhile, the supramax index, representative of smaller vessels, experienced a decrease of 1.3% to 1,329.
