Bosnia and Herzegovina Inflation Rate Hits Highest Since August 2023

In June 2025, Bosnia and Herzegovina saw its annual inflation rate climb to 4.6%, marking the highest level since August 2023 and accelerating from a rate of 3.7% in May. This rise was primarily attributed to more pronounced price increases in several areas: food and non-alcoholic beverages surged by 10.8%, compared to May's 9.9%; education costs increased by 1.9%, up from 0.8%; the restaurant and hotel sector saw prices climb to 7.2%, in contrast to the previous 6.2%; housing and utilities prices rose to 1.0% from 0.2%; furnishings and household equipment saw a hike to 1.1% from 0.6%; and the recreation and culture sector experienced a price increase to 4.9% from 4.4%. Meanwhile, the decline in transportation prices moderated, reducing to -4.3% compared to May's -6.4%. On the other hand, inflation in alcoholic beverages and tobacco slightly eased to 3.8% from 4.0%. Month-over-month, consumer prices edged up by 0.3% in June, following a 0.2% increase in May.
