In July 2025, Spain witnessed a reduction in the number of individuals registering as unemployed, decreasing by 1,357, or 0.1%, from the previous month to a total of 2.4 million. This marks the lowest unemployment level since June 2008. Analysts had predicted a more significant reduction of 21,300 individuals. In comparison to June's data, the agricultural sector saw a decline in unemployment by 614 individuals (a decrease of 0.8%). However, there were increases in unemployment within the construction sector, which saw a rise of 138 individuals (+0.1%), the industrial sector with an increase of 416 individuals (+0.2%), and the services sector with an uptick of 2,018 individuals (+0.1%). Significantly, there was also a reduction of 3,315 individuals (-1.5%) among those previously classified as unemployed. Unemployment among young people under 25 dropped by 2,561 (-1.5%) from the previous month, marking a historic low of 164,146 individuals within this demographic. Furthermore, the overall number of unemployed individuals decreased across six regions, notably in Andalusia (-8,035), Castilla-La Mancha (-1,771), and the Principality of Asturias (-1,296).
