In August 2025, retail sales in Bosnia and Herzegovina experienced a 4.3% increase compared to the previous year, marking a recovery from the 0.1% decline observed in the prior month. This improvement was largely driven by a surge in automotive fuel sales, which rose by 6.9% compared to 1.7% in July, and a significant boost in non-food product sales, up 7.2% from zero growth. Conversely, sales in the food, beverages, and tobacco sector continued to decline, falling by 3.6% compared to a 1.4% decrease previously. On a month-to-month basis, retail trade saw a 2.7% rise in August, effectively reversing the 2.6% decline recorded in July.
