In August 2025, industrial production in North Macedonia experienced a 3.5% decrease compared to the same month the previous year. This marks the first downturn in six months, following a 4.1% increase in July. Notably, production in the electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning sector plummeted by 26.8%, compared to a 7.5% decline the month before. The manufacturing sector also saw a reduction, shrinking by 1.4% after a 7.0% increase in July. Conversely, the mining and quarrying industry reported a 7.0% increase, recovering from a 10.4% decrease recorded in the previous month. Over the first eight months of the year, industrial output was 2.2% higher than the same timeframe last year.
