In September 2025, Hungary's annual inflation rate remained consistent at 4.3%, mirroring the previous two months and coming in slightly below the market expectation of 4.4%. There was an uptick in prices for services, which rose to 5.9% from August's 5.4%, and for consumer durables, which increased to 2.5% from 2.4%. Conversely, inflation rates slowed for categories such as food, decreasing to 4.7% from 5.9%; electricity, gas, and other fuels, down to 10.6% from 11%; and alcoholic beverages and tobacco, which dropped to 7.1% from 7.3%. On a month-to-month comparison, consumer prices remained stable, marking the second consecutive month without movement. Meanwhile, annual core inflation, which excludes the more unpredictable categories like food and energy, remained steady at 3.9%, maintaining its lowest level since August 2021.
