Lithuania Inflation Rate Steady at 4.0%

In September 2025, Lithuania's annual inflation rate remained steady at 4.0%, consistent with the prior month. Noteworthy accelerations were observed in the price increases for transportation, which climbed to 2.9% from 0.8% in August, alongside recreation and culture, which rose to 5.8% from 4.9%. Other areas of increased inflation included miscellaneous goods and services at 3.5% up from 2.8%, communication at 3.0% from 2.4%, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco slightly up at 8.3% from 8.2%. On the other hand, there was a deceleration in inflation for food and non-alcoholic beverages, which slowed to 4.8% from 6.0%, as well as education, which decreased to 4.8% from 6.6%. Health-related expenses saw a modest decrease to 4.6% from 5.1%, and restaurant and hotel prices declined to 6.5% from 6.9%. Notably, clothing and footwear experienced a price drop, reversing from a slight increase of 0.1% to a decrease of -0.7%. On a month-to-month comparison, consumer prices inched up by 0.3% in September, recovering from a 0.2% decline in the previous month.
