The unemployment rate in Austria increased to 7.2% in October 2025, up from 6.9% in the same month of the previous year. The count of unemployed individuals rose by 17,200 year-on-year, reaching a six-month peak of 310,500. Compared to the previous month, there was an increase of 11,300 unemployed persons. By gender, the unemployment rate for women was 7.2%, reflecting a rise of 0.4 percentage points from the prior year, while the rate for men increased by 0.3 percentage points to 7.3%. Additionally, approximately 388,100 people were recorded as either unemployed or participating in training programs in October.
