Danish Current Account Surplus Widens

In September 2025, Denmark experienced a significant rise in its seasonally adjusted current account surplus, reaching DKK 38.4 billion. This marks an increase from the prior month's upwardly revised figure of DKK 29.2 billion, which had been the lowest since May. The surplus in goods expanded notably to DKK 30.1 billion from DKK 22.7 billion the previous month, driven by a 6.7% rise in exports and a 0.8% decline in imports. The surplus in services saw a slight increase, moving to DKK 3.4 billion from DKK 3.2 billion. On the income front, the primary income surplus grew to DKK 8.1 billion from DKK 6.0 billion. Conversely, the secondary income deficit increased to DKK 3.2 billion from DKK 2.6 billion.
