In September 2025, household spending in Sweden experienced a modest increase of 0.3% compared to the previous month, following an upwardly revised 0.8% growth recorded in August. This rise was largely attributed to a 2.5% boost in the consumption of recreation and cultural goods and services. Moreover, expenditures on food and beverages saw an uptick of 0.5%. Conversely, there was a 1.5% decline in spending on transport, retail trade, and motor vehicle services, along with a 0.6% decrease in expenditures related to housing, electricity, gas, and heating. Annually, household consumption rose by 3.3%, showing an acceleration from the adjusted growth of 2.9% seen in the previous month.
