In the third quarter of 2025, labor productivity in the United Kingdom, defined as output per hour worked, experienced a 0.7% increase, following a previous decline of 0.6%. According to preliminary estimates, on an annual scale, productivity improved by 1.1%, rebounding from a 0.5% decrease in the second quarter. This improvement was driven by a greater increase in Gross Value Added (GVA) compared to hours worked, with figures at 1.3% and 0.2%, respectively. Compared to pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels in 2019, output per hour worked was 3.1% higher, while output per worker showed a 2.1% increase over the same period.
