In the third quarter of 2025, Latvia experienced a rise in its unemployment rate, reaching 6.9% from the previous quarter's 6.7%. This period saw an increase in the number of unemployed individuals by 2,500, bringing the total to 66,200. The male unemployment population grew by 3,700, whereas female unemployment saw a decrease of 1,200. There was a significant rise in the proportion of long-term unemployed—those unemployed for 12 months or more—escalating to 39.9% compared to 33.3% in the second quarter. Concurrently, the employment rate increased to 65.2% from 64.9%, with the total number of employed persons increasing by 2,700, reaching 892,100. The economically inactive segment of the population, those aged 15–74, stood at 30.0%, a slight decline from the previous quarter's 30.4%.
