Chile recorded a current account deficit of $4.6 billion in the third quarter of 2025. This marks a significant increase from the $2.4 billion deficit noted in the same period the previous year, representing the most substantial deficit in two years. The surplus in the goods account contracted to $2.4 billion from the previous year's $4.1 billion, as a substantial increase in imports overshadowed the modest rise in exports. Concurrently, the deficit in the primary account expanded to $4.8 billion from $4 billion. Meanwhile, the service deficit experienced a slight reduction ($-2.3 billion compared to $-2.3 billion in Q3 2024), and the secondary account continued to show a stable balance.
