Mexico’s auto exports declined by 4.4% year-on-year in February 2026, totaling 247,945 units, following a 2.3% increase in January. Several major automakers posted notable drops in shipments abroad, including General Motors (-9.5% to 57,473 units), Ford Motor (-9.4% to 28,958), Nissan (-26.8% to 27,800), Mazda (-38.6% to 7,115), Mercedes-Benz Group (-28.4% to 2,832) and BMW (-96.6% to 288).
Despite February’s setback, auto exports in the first two months of 2026 rose 1.4% year-on-year, reaching 485,426 units. The United States remained the primary destination, absorbing 75.7% of total exports, followed by Canada with 12.1% and Germany with 3.3%.
