The number of tourist arrivals in Macau surged 32.6% year-on-year to 4.173 million in February 2026, accelerating from a 15.5% increase in January, largely boosted by the Lunar New Year holidays. Same-day visitors and overnight visitors rose by 41.8% and 18.8%, respectively. However, the average length of stay shortened by 0.2 day year-on-year to 0.9 day, with the average stay of overnight visitors down by 0.1 day to 2.1 days.
By source market, visitors from mainland China jumped 43.6% year-on-year to 3,291,164 in February. Among them, arrivals under the Individual Visit Scheme soared 52.7% to 2,032,456. Arrivals from Hong Kong (591,300) and the Taiwan region (89,628) increased by 2.0% and 31.9%, respectively.
Visitor numbers also increased from the Philippines (+16.3%, 45,195), India (+42.5%, 5,831), and the United States (+5.5%, 11,142). In contrast, arrivals from Indonesia (-22.3%, 11,587), Thailand (-11.4%, 9,973), and South Korea (-5.6%, 55,994) declined.
For the first two months of 2026 as a whole, total visitor arrivals rose 15.1% year-on-year to 7,820,268.
