Total orders received by Swedish industry rose by 1% year-on-year in February 2026, rebounding from a revised 4.4% decline in January. Domestic orders increased by 4.9% in February, recovering from a 1.2% fall in the previous month, while foreign orders decreased by a more moderate 1.3%, compared with a 6.1% drop in January.
By industrial group, orders for durable goods returned to growth (10.1% vs -0.2%), non-durable goods accelerated (5.1% vs 1.6%), and energy-related goods edged slightly higher (6% vs 5.9%). At the same time, orders for intermediate goods contracted at a slower pace (-5.2% vs -17.7%), while growth in capital goods eased (4.4% vs 10.9%).
On a monthly basis, total new orders fell 1.6% in February, following a revised 5% decline in the previous month. Over the first two months of the year, total orders were down 1.8%, with the domestic market expanding by 1.8% and export orders falling 3.8%.
