Italy’s Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) slowed marginally in June 2026, with the year-over-year rate easing to 3.1% from 3.2% in May 2026. The latest figure, updated on 30 June 2026, reflects a modest deceleration in price growth when comparing June 2026 to the same month a year earlier.
The May reading, which showed a 3.2% year-over-year increase, had already indicated persistent but contained inflationary pressures. June’s slight decline to 3.1% suggests that while price growth remains elevated, it may be stabilising, offering a cautiously positive signal for policymakers and markets monitoring inflation dynamics in Italy and the wider euro area.
