FX.co ★ Croatia Industrial Output Decline Slows

Croatia’s industrial production declined 1.1% year-on-year in May 2026, moderating from a 2.1% drop in April. Output in mining and quarrying fell 5.0%, deepening from a 0.7% decrease in the previous month. Manufacturing output contracted 2.4%, following a 1.5% decline in April, weighed down by steeper falls in several segments: clothing (-16.6% vs -14.2%), paper products (-9.9% vs -5.1%), computers, electronic and optical products (-21.1% vs -3.3%), furniture (-10.0% vs -9.5%), and other transport equipment (-33.1% vs -28.3%). By contrast, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply returned to growth, rising 0.9% after an 11.3% slump in April. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, overall industrial production decreased 2.0% in May, following a 0.6% decline in April.
