FX.co ★ Slovenia Jobless Rate Edges Lower in May

Slovenia’s unemployment rate edged down to 4.4% in May 2026 from 4.5% in April, reaching its lowest level since June 2025. The number of unemployed persons fell by 1,115 over the month to 43,060. Women accounted for 20,905 jobseekers, or 48.5% of the total, while men represented 51.5%, or 22,155 individuals. By age group, the highest unemployment rate was among those aged 50–54, at 7.1% (4,428 individuals), followed by the 15–24 age group, at 6.4% (4,513 individuals). The number of first-time job seekers declined by 203 to 7,637, indicating fewer new entrants into unemployment. At the same time, the number of registered job vacancies stood at 13,013 in May.
