Armenia Inflation Eases in July

Armenia’s annual inflation rate slowed to 4.5% in July 2026, down from 5.1% in June. Price growth eased in several major categories, including housing and utilities (0.9% vs. 1.2%), health (3.3% vs. 3.5%), recreation and culture (0.1% vs. 0.9%), and food and non-alcoholic beverages (7.4% vs. 8.6%). Transport prices, which had risen by 1.6% in June, fell by 1.2% in July.

In contrast, inflation picked up for miscellaneous goods and services (3.3% vs. 2.4%), clothing and footwear (3.9% vs. 3.0%), furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance (2.7% vs. 1.8%), as well as restaurants and hotels (4.9% vs. 4.1%).

Inflation remained unchanged in several categories, holding steady for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.5%), communication (1.1%), and education (8.3%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 1.4% in July, following a 0.5% decline in June, marking the third consecutive month of deflation after nine straight months of price increases.
