In September 2026, US exports rose 1.9% (or $5.8 billion) to $321.5 billion, driven mainly by a $5.1 billion increase in goods exports. Within goods, exports of capital goods advanced $3.8 billion, led by stronger shipments of computers, computer accessories, and civilian aircraft. Exports of foods, feeds, and beverages increased by $1.9 billion, supported in particular by higher soybean sales, while consumer goods exports grew by $0.8 billion on the back of increased pharmaceutical shipments. These gains were partly offset by a $1.0 billion decline in exports of industrial supplies and materials, largely due to a sharp $3.4 billion drop in nonmonetary gold exports. Meanwhile, services exports edged up $0.7 billion to $110.5 billion, bolstered by higher receipts from travel as well as charges for the use of intellectual property.
