Synaptics Inc. recently reported their earning highlights for Q3. The figures, when compared to the same period over last year, are significantly different. The earnings have dipped to a loss of $18.1 million as against a profit of $10.4 million last year during the same period. The earnings per share (EPS) are also down to -$0.46 in comparison to $0.26 from the previous year's same quarter. If exceptional items are excluded, Synaptics Inc.'s adjusted earnings stand at $21 million or $0.53 per share for this period.
These figures are slightly higher than what analysts had projected at $0.49 per share. In terms of revenue, Q3 recorded $237.3 million, a substantial decrease from $326.6 million during the same period last year. Synaptics Inc. has also offered its guidance for next quarter's revenue, setting the range at $230-$260 million.
