In February 2025, net mortgage borrowing by individuals in the UK fell by £0.9 billion, settling at £3.3 billion. This represents a decline following a £0.8 billion increase seen in January. The annual growth rate for net mortgage lending remained relatively stable at 1.9% during February. Meanwhile, gross lending rose to £24.3 billion, up from £21.7 billion in January, marking the highest level since November 2022, when it reached £24.9 billion. Gross repayments climbed as well, reaching £19.8 billion from the previous month's £16.3 billion.
