Slovenia Consumer Prices Rise 2% in March

In March 2025, Slovenia experienced a rise in its annual inflation rate to 2%, up from a four-month low of 1.6% in February. This increase was primarily driven by higher prices in sectors such as food and non-alcoholic beverages, which saw an acceleration to 3.5% from 2.8% in the prior month, as well as health services, which jumped to 5.4% from 2.2%. Similarly, prices in restaurants and hotels increased by 4.2%, slightly down from 4.6%. Meanwhile, the decline in costs for housing and utilities softened, with a decrease of 1.2% compared to the previous 4.6% drop. Conversely, there was a slowdown in inflation rates for furnishing, household equipment, and routine household maintenance, decreasing to 0.1% from 0.5%, for transport at 1% down from 2.7%, and education at 2.9% declining from 3.7%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices grew by 0.6% in March, building on a 0.3% increase recorded in the previous month. Additionally, the EU-harmonized Consumer Price Index (CPI) saw a rise to 2.2% from 1.9% in February 2025.
