FX.co ★ Croatia Current Account Gap Widens in Q4

In the fourth quarter of 2024, Croatia's current account deficit expanded to EUR 1,571 million, up from EUR 1,051 million during the same period the previous year. The goods deficit increased to EUR 4,212 million, compared to EUR 3,806 million in Q4 2023, while the surplus in services decreased to EUR 1,676 million from EUR 1,755 million. Additionally, the secondary income surplus decreased to EUR 406 million from EUR 638 million. Conversely, the primary income surplus rose to EUR 559 million from EUR 363 million. Over the entire year of 2024, the current account transitioned to a deficit of EUR 1,059 million, reversing from a surplus of EUR 320 million in the prior year.
