In June 2025, Greece's annual inflation rate climbed to 2.8%, an increase from the 2.5% recorded in May. This represents the highest inflation rate since September 2024. Price increases were notably faster in several sectors, including housing, which rose to 7.2% from 6% in May, hotels, cafes, and restaurants, which increased to 7.1% from 6.8%, as well as communication, which edged up to 2.2% from 2%, and health, which rose to 2% from 1.8%. Meanwhile, the decline in transport costs moderated, decreasing by only 1.4% compared to a 2.8% drop previously. On the other hand, inflation rates decelerated for clothing and footwear, which fell to 4.9% from 6.6%, food and non-alcoholic beverages, which decreased to 2.3% from 2.6%, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco, which eased to 1.4% from 1.7%. Costs for education and recreation and culture remained stable at 2.6% and 1.2%, respectively. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices saw an increase of 0.8%, following a 0.2% rise in the previous month.
