In a post on Truth Social, Trump noted that Japan would be opening its markets to American exports, including cars, trucks, rice, and a variety of agricultural products, among other goods. He described this development as an exciting time for the United States, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a strong relationship with Japan. The announcement followed a White House meeting with Ryosei Akazawa, Japan’s chief tariff negotiator, according to reports by Japan’s Asahi newspaper, as covered by Reuters.
