On Thursday, the Hang Seng Index advanced by 129 points, or 0.5%, closing at 25,667, marking its fifth consecutive session of gains and maintaining its highest level since early November 2021. The upward movement was predominantly seen in financial and property sectors, reflecting the continued global equities rally. Investor sentiment was buoyed by the possibility of the U.S. pursuing additional trade agreements, following the successful completion of several accords earlier in the week, including one with Japan. In China, stocks gained traction in anticipation of the third round of trade negotiations with the U.S., scheduled for next week in Stockholm, aiming to prolong the tariff truce. However, the bullish momentum faced some resistance due to escalating tensions before the upcoming Federal Reserve policy meeting, with President Trump expected to visit the U.S. central bank later that day. Meanwhile, China is poised to release its industrial profit data for the first half of the year over the weekend, following a slight decline in the previous period. Key performers included Akeso Inc. with a 6.9% rise, China Hongqiao up 6.3%, Horizon Robotics gaining 5.2%, Citic Ltd. increasing by 5.6%, and Pop Mart Intl. climbing 4.1%.
