In June 2025, Malaysia's unemployment rate fell to 3.0%, down from 3.3% in June of the previous year, achieving its lowest point since April 2015 for the third month in a row. The number of unemployed individuals decreased by 6.3% compared to the previous year, reaching a five-year low of 518,700. Concurrently, employment rose by 3.0%, hitting an unprecedented high of 16.92 million. The labor force participation rate also reached a new record, climbing to 70.8% in June, an increase from 70.6% in the prior year, maintaining this historic level for the third consecutive month.
