Vehicle sales in China experienced a 14.7% increase in July 2025 compared to the same period last year, building upon a 13.8% rise in June, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). Notably, sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) jumped by 27.4% in July, marking the fifth consecutive month of growth. Over the first seven months of 2025, total vehicle sales grew by 12.0%, with NEV sales skyrocketing by 38.5%. Earlier predictions from CAAM anticipated a 4.7% rise in car sales, reaching 32.9 million units, while NEV sales were expected to climb by 24.4% to 16 million units. The previous year saw total vehicle sales grow by 4.5% to 31.436 million units, a notable deceleration from the 12% increase recorded in 2023.
