Tourist arrivals in Montenegro saw a notable increase of 8.4% in September 2025 compared to the same month in the previous year, reaching a total of 189,447 visitors. This growth follows a 3.7% rise in August. Foreign tourists dominated the overnight stays in collective accommodation, comprising 92.2% of the total, while domestic tourists accounted for just 7.8%.
A significant portion of these tourists hailed from Europe, making up 74.5% of visitors, with substantial numbers from Serbia (12.4%), the United Kingdom (7.3%), and Germany (6.5%). Outside of Europe, Montenegro attracted many visitors from Israel (9.1%), the United States (3%), and those from China, including Hong Kong (4.7%).
When it came to the type of accommodations, most overnight stays were recorded at seaside resorts, which accounted for 89.7% of the total. This was followed by stays in the capital, contributing 5.6%, with mountain resorts capturing 2.9%, and other resorts comprising 1.8% of the overnight stays.
