In September 2025, the total value of outstanding loans in Brazil experienced a month-over-month increase of 1.1%, reaching R$6.8 trillion, marking the highest level since December. This follows a 0.5% rise observed in August. Breaking it down, corporate credit saw an increase of 1.7%, amounting to R$2.6 trillion, while lending to households rose by 0.7%, finishing at R$4.3 trillion. When examined on an annual basis, overall credit expansion decelerated, showing a growth of 10.1%, down from 10.4% in August. Corporate credit sustained its annual growth at 8.7%, while household credit experienced a slowdown, decreasing to 11.0% from the previous 11.4%.
