Colombia's Industrial Confidence Index (ICI) experienced an uptick, registering 9.0 in September 2025 compared to 5.3 in August. This improvement was driven by a 6.5 percentage point rise in the current volume of orders and a 6.1 percentage point reduction in inventory levels. However, these gains were somewhat counterbalanced by a 1.4 percentage point decrease in production expectations for the upcoming quarter. Employment projections showed positive growth, with expectations climbing to 10.1%, an increase of 4.1 percentage points from June. In addition, the perception of smuggling in the industry improved, with a decline to 3.8%, down 0.9 percentage points from June's figures. On a year-over-year basis, the ICI surged by 7.7 percentage points from the previous year's figure of 1.3% in September 2024. The quarterly moving average also saw a rise, reaching 7.0%, which marks an increase of 2.5 percentage points from August.
