Philippines Producer Inflation at 3-Month Low

In October 2025, the Philippines experienced a 0.3% year-on-year increase in producer prices. This represents a decrease from the previously revised 0.8% in September and signifies the lowest level since July's deflation. The primary factor for this reduction was a decline in prices within the computer, electronics, and optical products manufacturing sector, which fell by 1% compared to a 0.6% increase in September and contributed to 56% of the deceleration in annual manufacturing PPI growth. Additionally, there were slower price increases in the food products manufacturing sector, with a 0.4% rise compared to 0.7%, and in basic metals manufacturing, which increased by 1.4% compared to 2.2%. Conversely, costs rose more quickly for the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (3.5% compared to 3.3%), tobacco products (3.3% compared to 2.6%), and chemical and related products (1.1% compared to 0.6%). On a month-to-month basis, producer prices climbed by 0.4%, up from 0.1% in September.
