US Logistics Sector Records Slowest Growth Since 2024

In November 2025, the Logistics Manager's Index in the United States experienced a decline to 55.7 from the consistent 57.4 noted in the preceding two months. This marks the most sluggish growth in the logistics sector since June 2024. The slowdown can be attributed to a persistent decrease in inventory and warehousing indicators, partially offset by some growth in the transportation sector. For the first time in its 9-year history, warehousing utilization contracted (falling to 47.5 from 56.5), primarily due to the depletion of substantial inventory stocks that accumulated during the first nine months of 2025. Consequently, warehousing capacity saw an increase (rising to 54.8 from 52), and the rate of warehousing price growth decelerated (slowing to 62.9 from 67.7). Conversely, inventory levels showed slight growth (rising to 52.5 from 49.5), while inventory costs eased somewhat (reducing to 70.8 from 73.2). In contrast, the transportation sector continued its upward trajectory, with a dip in transportation capacity (falling to 50 from 54.5), a slowdown in transportation utilization (decreasing to 51.5 from 57.3), and an increase in transportation prices (rising to 64.9 from 61.7).
