Annual producer inflation in Romania escalated to 8% year-on-year in October 2025, following a revision of previous figures to show a 6.06% increase in the prior month. This acceleration represents the most significant rise since May 2023. Contributing to this spike were substantial price surges in the electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply sector, which jumped to 20.54% from 13.06% in September, along with the water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities sector, which increased to 11.48% from 10.21%. Additionally, costs in mining and quarrying recovered, showing a 3.41% increase compared to a previous decline of 2.22%. Conversely, manufacturing prices decelerated slightly, recording a 3.62% rise down from 3.80%. Month-on-month, producer prices rose by 0.99% in October, up from a 0.87% increase recorded in the previous period.
