Japan's foreign reserves increased by $11.98 billion in November 2025, reaching $1.36 trillion—marking a peak not seen since March 2022. This total comprises $1.16 trillion in foreign currency reserves, $11.18 billion in the IMF reserve position, $60.51 billion in Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), $113.99 billion in gold, and $15.99 billion in other reserve assets. Furthermore, the finance ministry recently verified that there were no foreign exchange interventions from July through September 2025.
