In December 2025, Slovenia experienced an increase in its annual inflation rate, rising to 2.7% from the previous month's five-month low of 2.3%. This upward trend was largely driven by increased inflation in specific sectors: housing and utilities saw a rise to 4.3% from 4% in November, furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance increased to 0.8% from a neutral rate, and clothing and footwear climbed to 1.1% from 0.2%. Moreover, there was a notable rise in inflation for recreation and culture, which went up to 2.1% from 0.5%, as well as for miscellaneous goods and services, which increased to 2.6% from 0.9%. In contrast, there was a deceleration in price growth for food and non-alcoholic beverages, which eased to 4.5% from 5%, and transport costs continued their decline, falling by 0.7% compared to the previous drop of 0.4%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices remained stable, consistent with the previous month. The harmonized Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed a year-on-year increase of 2.6%, following a 2.4% rise in November. Overall, Slovenia's average inflation rate for 2025 was recorded at 2.4%.
