FX.co ★ Brazil Services Sector Expands at Fastest Pace Since 2024

In December 2025, the S&P Global Brazil Services PMI rose to 53.7, up from 50.1 in November, marking the most accelerated expansion in over a year. The increased activity within Brazil’s predominant services sector was largely fueled by a robust rise in new orders. Sales witnessed their second consecutive monthly increase, achieving their fastest growth rate since November 2024. In response to escalating demand, service providers continued to expand their workforce, resulting in the fourth straight month of employment growth—the strongest since March, despite its overall modesty. This hiring trend was further bolstered by optimistic projections for output growth in 2026. Nevertheless, business confidence dipped slightly from the six-month peak observed in November due to apprehensions that the impending elections might disrupt operations. Cost pressures remained significant, owing to heightened expenses in energy, food, labor, transportation, and electrical items. However, the inflation rate decelerated to its lowest point in more than a year and a half.
