FX.co ★ Moldova Inflation Rate Eases in December

In December 2025, Moldova saw a decrease in its annual inflation rate to 6.8%, down from 7% in November. This decline was largely due to a slowdown in price growth for food products, which eased to 5.6% from the previous month's 6.3%. The moderation in food prices was notably influenced by reduced price increments for meats, fruits, dairy products, eggs, vegetable oil, and a drop in vegetable prices. Non-food product costs also saw a deceleration, dropping to 2.3% from 2.7% as clothing, medicines, and building material prices experienced less pronounced increases, coupled with a reduction in fuel prices. Conversely, inflation for services climbed to 14.9% from 14.2%, driven by rising expenses for communal and housing services, passenger transport, and medical services. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices rose by 0.9%, up from a 0.3% increase the previous month.
