Retail sales in the Czech Republic experienced a 4.6% increase year-on-year in November 2025, following a revised 2.4% growth in the previous month, surpassing market predictions of a 3.4% rise. This represents the most significant sales growth in five months. The increase was especially notable in automotive fuel sales, which rose by 6% compared to 4.3%, and in non-food products, which saw a 6.3% increase compared to 3.9% in October. Among non-food products, there were remarkable gains in cosmetic and toilet products, which grew by 9.5% from 8.7%; mail order and internet sales, which surged by 15.8% from 6.6%; and sales outside traditional retail venues like stores, stalls, and markets, which jumped by 14.6% from 5.9%. Additionally, the sales of food, beverages, and tobacco products rebounded with a 1.1% rise compared to a 0.4% decline previously. Seasonally adjusted, monthly retail activity improved by 0.8% in November, following a revised 0.3% increase in the prior period.
