Switzerland’s KOF Economic Barometer rose to 104.2 in February 2026, its highest level since August 2024. This followed an upwardly revised 103.3 in January and exceeded market expectations of 103, underscoring a strengthening positive outlook for the Swiss economy.
Indicator bundles related to both domestic consumption and foreign demand point to favourable prospects. By contrast, developments on the production side are mixed, with the manufacturing indicator bundle in particular showing signs of weakening.
Within the producing sector (manufacturing and construction), sub-indicators for stocks of intermediate goods and for the general business situation are under notable pressure. However, these negative signals are partly offset by a more positive outlook for employment prospects and export-related sub-indicators.
